Holzbesteck The development and the whole know-how for the fully automated installations for production, processing and forming of wooden veneer all come from a company HOLZSPECHT. The production has since been purchased by Hess France and is produced under their company name of Picwoody's. The raw wood used in the production comes from controlled ecological forest cultivation. This means that only as much wood may be harvested from an area as can grow back in the same time. For the mass articles forks, knives and spoons the surfaces of those areas coming into mouth contact are specially treated in a way that insures the necessary heat resistance and feels good while eating. In addition, the fork points are smoothed to guarantee an optimal function even when used for salads.   These unique products are sold worldwide. The goal: To provide the customer with an ecological alternative to and thereby reduce the amount of non environmentally friendly material in the disposable cutlery market. The products were awarded the "Marianne Brand Preis" for design of the country Sachsen-Anhalt 1996. In addition the company was recognized as one of the 50 most innovative companies in 1997 by the Bundespräsident.
